Students at a Michigan High School Evacuate Due to Snow Storm, Bomb Threat

A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a bomb threat made against Stockbridge High School in Michigan on Monday , police said.

Between a snow storm and a bomb threat made against Stockbridge Junior/Senior High School in Michigan on Monday, students were evacuated from the campus that morning.

Stockbridge Police Department Chief Johnnie Torres told the Lansing State Journal a juvenile was arrested Monday afternoon and taken to the Ingham County  Juvenile Detention Center in Lansing.

Superintendent Karl Heidrich said the threat included the date and named the high school building.

After authorities were made aware of the threat, elementary students were sent home at 11:45 a.m. and high school students were sent to the fire station. LSJ said the snow storm played a part in sending students home early as well.

The district placed its elementary schools on external lockdown "out of an abundance of caution," Superintendent Karl Heidrich said Monday.

The schools are still closed due to the wintry weather.
