Spring Branch Independent School District’s Police Chief Bruce Dareing has been working within the SBISD community for over five years. In 2017, Chief Dareing took on the role of the district’s new police chief after serving as Assistant Chief for several months.

For nearly three decades, Chief Dareing worked for the Lewisville and Memorial Villages police departments and as a reserve officer with the SBISD Police Department. During his career Chief Dareing has served as an investigator, field training officer, SWAT officer and as a police academy instructor.

Chief Dareing has also served 24 years in the U.S. Army as a member of its Special Forces group, with skills training in intelligence, weapons and demolitions. He saw combat in Afghanistan with Special Forces unit in 2002 during Operation Enduring Support. In 2012, he retired with the rank of captain.
